It centers on our wide-eyed hero, who discovers that Athenian Rhapsody is about to launch after a dubious snack while out on a nature stroll! A creepy-smiled mushroom who can’t wait to reveal the release date but ends up clogging the toilet instead.
Quick editing keeps you wondering right up to the very end when the release date is eventually disclosed. It’s tightly packed with quick quips and a restless narrative. It had me guessing what would pop up on my screen next!
A universe in which anything is possible. That’s the absurdist universe of Athenian Rhapsody. Screaming frogs, fish gyms, and even a terrifying ice cream man (though is he really scary or misunderstood?). Every turn you take creates a different story, and your choice defines it. This Athens has too many ridiculous missions, odd meetings, and laugh-out-loud moments.
Your Way, Your Story
Athenian Rhapsody has no clear route. Every decision modifies your journey, so every playthrough is entirely different. One minute, you could befriend a screaming frog, and the next, a fish might challenge you to a memory game.
It has many branching routes and secret passageways, so replayability is plentiful. After finishing your playthrough, you’ll get a “Rhapsody”—a log of your whole trip. It captures all your crazy decisions, the ridiculous obstacles you passed, and the people you will never forget. Even better, you may exchange outrageous tales with others by sharing your Rhapsody.
Accept the Absurd.
Athenian Rhapsody throws everything at you, including the kitchen sink. Italian cuisine that’s a pain in the gut? Check. A scary ice cream man? Absolutely. A gym for fish only? Why not? Okay then, I’ll go punch some wildlife, (that’s an option too!). The best part is, it’s all hilarious. When things get weird—which they inevitably will—the game is a riot to play because it revels in its own absurdity.
There are more approaches to handle the difficulties you will undergo than combat. Laughter and pointless trivia can also be used to talk yourself out of a mess. Maybe you’ll make a new friend rather than an opponent! To compare crazy experiences, you can even share your Rhapsody with friends.
