Halfbrick Studios and Joe Brumm are bringing their decade-long creative partnership to life with Bluey’s Quest for The Gold Pen. Halfbrick is the studio behind Fruit Ninja and Jetpack Joyride, while Brumm is the creator of the popular cartoon series.
The story in the game is new, written by Joe Brumm specifically for the game. The game is a collaboration with Halfbrick Studios and created with BBC Studios and Ludo Studio. In an exclusive conversation on Bluey.TV, Brumm and Halfbrick CEO Shainiel Deo talk about how their partnership began back in 2013.
That partnership eventually set the stage for Bluey’s Quest for The Gold Pen
The game brings the six-year-old Blue Heeler’s imagination to the foreground. Bluey is sketching away when Dad suddenly yoinks the Gold Pen she needs.
That small disruption becomes the spark for a full adventure, shifting Bluey into a hand-drawn imaginary world. Here, Mum takes on the role of designer of the lands, Dad reappears on a cool bike calling himself King Goldie Horns, and Bingo turns into Bingoose, a honk-powered chaotic alter ego.
The quest is less about the pen and more about the detours, the silliness, and the imaginative leaps that make up Bluey’s play. The game lets kids (and adults) explore and dive into problem-solving.
There are nine levels that range from snowy mountain paths to golden beaches, dense green forests, and stretches of the Australian outback. You can glide, skate, and fly through challenges, uncover hidden treasures, and stumble across mini quests.
You probably know how the show has a knack for keeping adults entertained without losing the childlike energy at its core. The same applies to Bluey’s Quest for The Gold Pen, the game. Take a look at the trailer and see for yourself!
The game releases on December 12th, 2025. You can pre-register now on the Google Play Store. Try a segment for free before buying the full game with no ads.
