Released by Banana & Co, Coup is a physical board game that has just been covered to digital, and released on to Android. In this game, players will assume the role of the head of a family, and is seeking to gain the most influence in an Italian City-State, by outmaneuvering the other, competing families.
In each round, players can select from a variety of actions: drawing extra coins, stealing coins from another player (or conversely, blocking another player’s attempt to steal from you), paying to assassinate a character in a rival family, or launch a full on coup against the family to deprive them of influence. The characters dealt at the start of the game determine what a player can do, though players are allowed to “bluff” what characters they have. In order to perform an action for a character that they don’t have the card for, and hope they don’t get called on it. Play ends when one family has influence (at least one character card face down), and all the others are deprived of it (their character cards are face up).

The digital game includes tutorials, custom art for the cards, and can support up to four players in a match. There are in-game chats for anything ranging from greetings, to taunts, and even negotiations. There are also leaderboards, so the game has rooms for players to find matches and climb up the ranks, as well as achievements and badges.
Coup is available for free from Google Play. The game includes optional IAPs that cover anything from changing what the cards look like, to removing ads, to purchasing additional points for your reputation.
