Hero Academy arrived on mobile back when Hearthstone was a twinkle in Blizzard’s eye. It was effectively a card battler that played out on a grid, a bit like chess.
Now, the franchise has returned with a sequel that rips the art style right out of Hearthstone. That’s a bit of a shame, as Hero Academy was here first and few will appreciate it.
Hero Academy 2 is like a blend of chess and Hearthstone
But once you’ve got over the comparisons to Hearthstone you’ll find that this is its own beast. You’ll build a deck from a number of different factions and units, then battle your opponents.
Battles are in real time and you’ll play against genuine other players. Having said that, you can play the single player mode that has its own story if you fancy.
If you like card battlers or multiplayer games in general, you owe it to yourself to grab Hero Academy 2 on Google Play right now.
