Broken Sword – Shadow of the Templars: Reforged is coming to mobile soon. Publisher StoreRider has opened pre-registration of this revamped version of the 90’s classic on Android. If you’re into point-and-click adventures, you should definitely sign up for this one.
Originally launched in September 1996 on PC, Broken Sword – Shadow of the Templars quickly became one of the staples of the genre. The Reforged version, which sticks to the original game, was first released on PC in September 2024.
What’s New in Broken Sword – Shadow of the Templars: Reforged Mobile?
The audio and visuals have been fully remastered in high definition, with support for 4K. The hauntingly atmospheric soundtrack by Barrington Pheloung still leads the way. Some areas genuinely look like a whole new game, though the vibe is still the same.
The story hasn’t changed though, and you’ll still follow George Stobbart. He’s a curious American who finds himself accidentally dragged into an ancient conspiracy involving the Knights Templar. He teams up with Nico Collard, a sharp journalist.
From Parisian cafés to ancient ruins in Syria, and from Spanish backstreets to mysterious crypts in Ireland, the two are constantly hopping from one location to another. The game’s visuals are really charming. Take a look at it here yourself!
The puzzles remain as tricky as ever, spread across the museum, the sick ward, and other places. The solution only becomes available after you’ve done something elsewhere.
