A new Square Enix game is on the horizon for mobile gamers, and we’re pretty excited about it. It’s called Centennial Case, and it has a very exciting director behind it.

What is Centennial Case?

Centennial Case is directed by Koichiro Ito, who also worked on Metal Gear Solid V and the infamous Silent Hills P.T. That fact alone should already spur excitement for the upcoming mobile release – especially considering that the game is a mystery adventure interactive film. For more information about it, visit the game’s official website and the Steam page!

Centennial Case originally launched back in May 2022 on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and PC – but we’re looking forward to seeing how it will look on mobile too.

What Can You Do in the Game?

The game itself follows murder cases that take place over the course of a century – specifically in 1922, 1972, and 2022. Centennial Case’s episodes are split into three phases: the Incident Phase, Reasoning Phase, and the Solution Phase. Our favourite aspect is that it gives you the chance to explore the different time periods as you search for crucial clues.

You then build up a hypothesis during the Incident Phase to help solve the 100 year mystery. It’s important to remember that not all clues will lead to the solution, and you may end up wasting your time by focusing on the wrong hypothesis.

You can then go head-to-head with your suspect as you try to reach the truth. It’s a drama-fuelled mystery, and it looks to be a brilliant little game. Bored during the work commute? Hop onto Centennial Case for a quick clue hunt.

With beautiful cinematography during the live-action cutscenes, the actors themselves have done an absolutely incredible job at playing their roles. The official release date is set to be around Spring 2023, so we expect to see it up on Google Play sooner rather than later.
