Crab Blast is a Match-3 puzzle game where every puzzle you solve helps a cancer charity. Meaningfull Games, a Public Benefit Corporation from Durham, North Carolina is the developer of the game. It’s their debut title on mobile and is free to play.
Match 3 with a Splash
Crab Blast takes place in the Archipelago. A once-idyllic island, it’s now overrun by cranky crabs, driftwood, and melting popsicles. You team up with a cheerful gang of animals, from dolphins to sharks, to clean up the mess and bring calmness to the paradise.
There are hundreds of colourful levels with beachy match-3 challenges. You match shells and other seaside items. Power-ups come in the form of tropical allies like, otters, octopuses, gulls and orcas. Combining them leads to some surprising chain reactions.
The game includes a feature called ‘Stars’ which you can award to charities. These awards translate to monthly cash donations from an Impact Fund. Ten percent of all revenue generated by Crab Blast is donated to cancer charities.
It’s the players who decide which cancer organizations benefit. According to Jonathan O’Donnell, MD, founder of Meaningfull Games, the idea was to use the time people already spend playing mobile games and turn it into something impactful.
Crab Blast also serves as a platform
The publishers are inviting cancer charities to partner directly and feature within the game. Meaningfull’s goal is to make the ecosystem more inclusive, giving visibility and support to organizations of all sizes.
Crab Blast is available now on the Google Play Store. It’s free to play, doesn’t rely on ads, and doesn’t need Wi-Fi. So, do give it a spin and contribute to a cause that affects millions.
