Pepperbox Studios has rolled out the first major expansion for its deckbuilding roguelike Dice of Kalma. Called Pick Your Poison, it adds epic meta progression and new gameplay systems to Dice of Kalma across multiple platforms.

The game launched on mobile in November 2025. Within three months, the game has already touched a major milestone. It saw more than 100,000 downloads on the App Store alone.

Set in the Underworld, the game challenges you to confront Kalma, the Finnish god of death. Each run revolves around rolling and rerolling dice, locking in favourable outcomes, and constructing synergistic decks from a pool of skulls.

So, what does Pick Your Poison bring to Dice of Kalma?

Pick Your Poison introduces a new epic meta-progression framework that reshapes how you approach repeated runs. Instead of simply restarting, you can now unlock specific challenges that test mastery and alter the flow of future attempts.

The update also expands the in-game arsenal with additional skulls. They open up new combinations and strategic paths aimed at outmanoeuvring

Death himself. With more than 200 unique skulls already available, the new options further deepen the theory-crafting aspect.

Pick Your Poison also adds a fresh set of achievements to Dice of Kalma. Deciding when to secure a roll, when to risk a reroll, and when to push forward despite uncertainty remains central to the design.

On the mobile version of Dice of Kalma, the Pick Your Poison update also brings Supporter Packs. They add a cosmetic flourish in the form of a stylish crown for Kalma.
