[Updated] EA’s Sim City BuildIt gets a new gameplay trailer to check out

EA’s upcoming Sim City BuildIt is currently in a soft launch in a few territories right now such as Canada. However for the rest of the world, we will have to wait until EA decides to release the game worldwide until we can get a chance to play it and see if it is a worthy addition to the franchise for mobile players to dig into.

Update: December 16th, 2014 11:03am PST: Sim City BuiltIt has finally been released worldwide. Up until now it was only in a soft launch for Canadian residents. You can grab a copy for free through the link below.

In the meantime, EA has released a new gameplay trailer for those of us who can’t play the game yet to check out. For those of you not familiar with this game and missed our last article about it, Sim City BuildIt is EA’s attempt to bring a more full-fledged Sim City type of game to mobile but as a free-to-play title. It doesn’t stray too far from the tried and true mechanics that you would find in a PC or console version of a Sim City title except it is scaled down a bit in some of the deeper gameplay mechanics in order to better fit mobile devices, or at least that is what EA has alluded to.

Sim City BuildIt Features:

• SimCity, reimagined for a new generation of mobile players
• Solve real city problems like traffic, fires and pollution
• Add basic city services, including water and electricity to keep your citizens happy and your city growing
• Specialize your city with iconic landmarks, casinos, and more!
• Create and trade resources with friends and other cities
• Unleash natural (and not so natural) disasters
• Explore your 3D city from all angles with 360° controls
• Watch your city come to life – night and day!

Since this will be free-to-play we can all expect a good amount of IAPs to be available as an optional feature to take advantage of. In the meantime, you can check out the new trailer below while we wait for the game’s international release.
