Bendy and the Ink Machine is an eerie puzzle-action horror from developer Joey Drew Studios. In the game, you’ll be exploring the haunted corridors of the old animation studio that started it all.
You play as Henry Stein, a retired animator who once worked at the now-abandoned Joey Drew Studios during its 1930s golden age. The studio was once famous for its black-and-white cartoon mascot, Bendy, brought to life through the Ink Machine.
Years after the studio’s decline, Henry receives a letter from Joey Drew himself, summoning him back to the decaying workshop. What follows is a disturbing exploration into a world where cheerful animation has turned into something grotesque and alive.
You navigate the ruined studio through a first-person perspective, alternating between combat, puzzle-solving, and stealth sequences. You’ll uncover audio logs left behind by employees, slowly piecing together the grim secrets behind the Ink Machine’s creation.
Every flickering lamp and distorted animation reel hints at the studio’s dark transformation. The setting evokes the animation styles from the 1920s to 1940s twisted into something nightmarish. Henry’s journey forces you to confront living ink monsters, corrupted characters, and the ever-present Ink Demon that stalks the halls.

Bendy and the Ink Machine originally released episodically on Game Jolt in 2017. It later arrived on consoles in 2018, before landing on mobile later that same year. Though there’s still no controller support for mobile, you can grab it for free from the Epic Games Store app.
