Fans of match three should check out Swapperoo from FallenTree Games

Released by FallenTree Games, Swapperoo is a new puzzler for the Android OS. In Swapperoo, there is a five by five board with colored shapes that occupy most of the spots. The idea is to approach the board as if one was playing a match three game, only the difference with it is that not all of the pieces move.

Squares don’t move at all, triangles only move in the direction they’re pointing, circles crumble away and disappear, etc. Once three or more shapes of the same color (what the shapes are doesn’t matter), they then clear away and are replaced from above, in match three fashion. The game contains close to forty different free-form stages that are cleared when meeting that boards criteria, such as meeting a threshold for the number of pieces cleared away, in order to complete that board. There is also 75 additional challenges with different objectives for each one.

Swapperoo uses a cool color palette for its visuals as well, focusing on pastels and browns, and works in its own way. The soundtrack is also pretty laid back, with a jazzy/lounge flair to it. Considering the developer’s previous releases, including the Quell series, that is no surprise as all. Swapperoo is available from Google Play for $0.99, though that’s just the introductory price, and should double in the near future.
