Gameloft Releases New N.O.V.A. 3 Trailer

We’re right there with you, patiently waiting (and praying for compatibility) for Gameloft’s latest romp in their space themed FPS, N.O.V.A. 3. Over the weekend the French company has teased its fans with new footage along side a visual walkthrough with executive producer Arnaud Bonnard. He details the graphical changes in this sequel. If you’re still unconvinced how awesome this game will look, watch the trailer after the break.

It’s no secret most Gameloft games are pretty. Modern Combat and 9mm were one of our visual appealing games from last year, and it seems that Gameloft is looking to up the ante. If you’ve yet to see the trailer to the third installment, take the time now to take a peek at what’s coming. Aside from the brand new weapons and vehicles, the most obvious change is how gorgeous it looks. Rapidly bridging the gap between consoles and  mobile games, executive produce Arnaud Bonnard points out what exactly makes N.O.V.A. 3 looks so fantastic.

Sure the Halo and Crysis inspired graphics are sure to turn off players but the amount of detailed work is pretty difficult to ignore. My favorite part? The dynamic lighting. It seems the developers will take advantage of this graphical feat by having players shoot their way out of dark levels. Of course, bright areas look like their eye popping. Suffice to say, my PSP Vita envy just dropped a few notches.

My only concern is Gameloft is solely focusing on the iOS version first, leaving us Android lover stranded for a few months. It happened with Modern Combat 3 so I won’t be surprised to find iPhone owners rubbing it on our faces for a few months. Of course there’s also the case of compatibility but that’s neither here or there.

With a slew new features and visual eye candy, it’s a great time to be a mobile gamer… till Modern Combat 4 at least.
