We’ve mentioned a couple of times in the recent past about Gameloft’s upcoming Gangstar spin-off game which, after inking a deal with GREE, will be making its way to GREE social gaming platform when it is released. Well apparently the release for Gang Domination will be this Thursday. Surprising since it is so close to the release of Asphalt 7 which we are still waiting for.
At first the main thought from both us and readers was that Gang Domination would be an open world game. Well it will actually be a trading card combat game which fits perfectly into GREE’s platform of social games. This also means that Gang Domination will more than likely be available as a free download supported with in-game purchase, most likely for boost packs of cards and similar items. Nothing too fancy and pretty much what you would find in any other TCG on Android.
So how will this game play out? Gang Domination doesn’t sound too different from other gang themed titles except that it is a TCG game instead of a menu-driven MMO or open world game. You’ll be leading your gang which is made up of cards with characters on them, completing quests and taking down bosses. This can be done solo or with a group of people teaming up together. Of course what good gang themed game would come without PvP. You’ll be able to scrap it out with other players as well.
Since this is a TCG title, you have a lot of the mechanics you would find in other trading card games including fusing cards together, boost cards as well as collecting more cards through virtual prize dispensers and in-app purchases. If anything, the art on the cards looks pretty good. You only have to wait a few more days to play Gang Domination as it is slated for release on Thursday June 28th, 2012.
