Genshin Impact 4.0 is just around the corner and you can now download the pre-installation via the game’s official launcher. The latest version of the open-world RPG is due to be released worldwide on August 16.

Clear Up Your Storage!
If you’re a Genshin Impact player, you’ll know that each version (and update) of the game takes up a massive amount of storage. However, this latest version is surprisingly huge.
The 4.0 Fontaine version update will be no different, with a suspected 60 GB needed on PC and around 8-10 GB for mobile devices. This is mainly due to the fact that some files within the game have been adjusted to improve optimisation.
As the game grows in success, the amount of space it takes up on your chosen device will ultimately expand. This leaves some players no choice but to uninstall their other games just so they can log in to Genshin Impact. You do have the option to choose between a full voice-over and a download with a more sparse voice-over package.
The Maintenance Period
Genshin players must complete this pre-installation if they wish to hop onto the game as soon as servers go back up after the 5-hour maintenance period. It’s advised that you pre-install version 4.0 ahead of August 16.
You’ll receive a gift of 300 Primogems in return for patiently waiting for the maintenance to be over – perfect if you’re planning to pull on Lyney’s or Yelan’s banner in 4.0!
