HoYoverse has unveiled the upcoming update for Genshin Impact, Version 5.7. Titled A Space and Time for You, it will go live on June 18th. The update brings character debuts, lore progression, a new combat mode, and a tactical mini-game designed by the Sumeru Akademiya.
Skirk Arrives in Genshin Impact Version 5.7!
Skirk is a mysterious figure with deep ties to the Abyss, best known for being Childe’s elusive mentor. Her kit is unique as it revolves around two fighting styles. She also has a special mechanic called Serpent’s Subtlety.
Alongside Skirk comes Dahlia, a new 4-star Hydro character who also happens to be the Deacon of the Church of Favonius. His kit leans heavily into support. The first half of Genshin Impact Version 5.7 will include Skirk, Dahlia, and a rerun for Shenhe. The second half will bring back Mavuika, the Pyro Archon, and Emilie.

Where’s the Story Heading?
The update continues where the Bedtime Story quest left off. The Traveler’s journey with their sibling deepens as the Abyss Order starts moving in Natlan. There’s unrest on both sides. Mavuika and her defenders are bracing themselves, while Dainsleif appears in a new form to assist the Traveler on the frontlines.
Meanwhile, the Sumeru Akademiya is rolling out a simulated adventure event that mixes tactical decision-making with random elements. You get to assemble a team of Companion Pieces and choose between two distinct paths rainforest or desert.
Genshin Impact Version 5.7 also adds a new permanent mode called Stygian Onslaught. It brings three rotating bosses and six difficulty tiers. Rewards include Artifacts and a new item called Dust of Enlightenment. It lets you re-roll the substats on Level 20 Artifacts.
Lastly, there’s a new slice-of-life series coming in called Travelers’ Tales: Gilded Chapter. It’s a collection of light moments scattered across Teyvat. Characters like Thoma, Neuvillette, and Dori will have their own mini-stories.
