Goodnight Games shows off screenshots for their upcoming Malevolent Machines game

Goodnight Games, who are the developers behind Ernie vs Evil, have released the first gameplay screenshots (from an early build) for their upcoming game called Malevolent Machines. Up until today, we have had very little in the way of details regarding this particular game. There’s still not a whole lot of details, but we do have a better idea of how the gameplay will look and what the game looks like visually.

As you can see from the screenshots below, Malevolent Machines will have a side-scrolling arcade style of gameplay, at least for a good portion of it. Players will be assuming control of Dr. Leyla Green who is a scientist that was doing experiments that have gone wrong. Because of her carelessness, the horrors that were created because of these experiments are now causing havoc among mankind.

In order to get her experiments back, and keep her funding for future experiments, you will be diving into a steampunk universe to take out the machines alongside her giant pet cyborg. You will be taking on hordes of biological and robotic monstrosities while journeying through your city on your way to her university lab. That is about all we know beside the game having a more retro type of look to it visually.

We do also know that the game is now in the beta stages of development, and that we will be able to get a closer look and even hands-on time with an early build of Malevolent Machines. When we learn more, we will post an update. Malevolent Machines is slated for release in December 2016.
