Sanrio and Tap Tap Tales have joined hands for a new slice of the Sanrio universe. It’s Hello Kitty and Friends World, a playful house-builder that’s full of creativity and freeform exploration. According to the devs, it’s more of an open sandbox that will attract both children and adults alike.

It’s Your house, Your rules in Hello Kitty and Friends World

The game drops you into a bright city that immediately encourages tinkering. Nine iconic Sanrio characters are available right now. There’s Hello Kitty, My Melody, Cinnamoroll, Kuromi, Pompompurin, Pochacco, Tuxedosam, Keroppi, and Badtz-Maru.

You can place them around the environment, move them through different settings, and give them various expressions and movements. The city is meant to be a calm, pressure-free space.

The game offers five themed houses, each containing five rooms. That includes dining room, bedroom, bathroom, kitchen, and garden. You can approach these rooms however you like, tweaking wall colours and rearranging décor.

There are more than 500 interactive items. Some will respond differently depending on which character is nearby. The kitchen adds over 100 foods that you can combine into playful dishes. Catch a glimpse of Hello Kitty and Friends World here.

There are 27 mini-games, three linked to each of the nine characters. So, it covers everything from running and jumping segments to puzzles, collecting tasks, and simple challenges. Plush toys are rewards here, and the collection grows past 25.

Is it for kids only?

Well, there are no rules, right? I’ve been a fan of the Sanrio universe ever since I was introduced to them as a kid. Even as an adult, I don’t mind checking out Hello Kitty-themed games and collectibles. This one also looks quite enticing, translating the warmth and charm of the franchise into the app.

All nine characters are available from the beginning and all 27 mini-games are accessible without in-app purchases. The homes, items, and animated poses, more than 10 per character, are open for use immediately. So, grab the game from the Google Play Store for your kid or for yourself!
