If you grew up with Sanrio characters or still have a soft spot for Hello Kitty and her friends, there’s a new game out now. It’s by LINE Games and their affiliate Super Awesome who have soft launched it. The game is called Hello Kitty Friends Match and it’s a mobile match 3 puzzle game.
Where is Hello Kitty Friends Match 3 Available?
The game is now live in the Philippines and Canada. The full global rollout is set for some time in the first half of 2025. If you aren’t in those regions, you can pre-register on the Google Play Store.
I know. You must be having an urge to roll your eyes at another match 3 game but Hello Kitty Friends Match actually brings in a few fresh ideas.
First off, it plays in landscape mode, which is great if you’re tired of the usual cramped vertical puzzles. The icons are also bigger than usual, which makes a big difference when you don’t want to squint at your screen.
Hello Kitty Friends Match kicks off in a place called Dreamland for its match 3 endeavour. You’ll find Hello Kitty, My Melody, Kuromi, Cinnamoroll, Pompompurin, and the rest of the friends there.
They are on a mission to collect magical star power to rebuild their home. It’s cute storytelling and casual puzzles mixed together, so there’s a light adventure thread tying it all together.
How Many Friends Do You Get?
Hello Kitty Friends Match has a collectible angle too. You’ll be able to gather 10 different Sanrio characters and unlock over 100 costumes. Some of the costumes come as a reward if you pre-register now, if you are not in the soft-launch regions.
