HoYoverse is inviting players to sign up for the upcoming Honkai: Nexus Anima CBT. It’s the newest addition to the Honkai franchise. The game is a creature-collecting adventure strategy title, with elements from several genres.
It’s the game’s first closed beta
The Honkai: Nexus Anima CBT is titled the Nexus Bond Test. They’re accepting registrations starting today, August 29th, 2025, at 12:00 UTC+8. Sign-ups will remain open until September 12th, 2025, at 23:59 UTC+8.
Applications are available for PC and iOS. Yep, not for Android this time. Only a select group of players who pre-register and complete a questionnaire will be chosen. The beta will feature a data wipe once it ends, as the game is still under development.
The project was first teased months earlier during the Honkai: Star Rail anniversary concert in May 2025. The recent reveal gives the first detailed look at the game. Take a peek at Honkai: Nexus Anima below.
What’s the setting?
In Nexus Anima, you step into the role of a plane-hopping traveller who breaks free from captivity and begins exploring a fractured world. In this world, bonds are known as Nexus, and once connected opposing concepts like Light and Dark or Life and Death.
But those ties have now ruptured, scattering their essence as Anima across the land. It’s these Anima that become the companions of both exploration and combat.
Every Anima carries its own theme and personality. There are straightforward elementals like light, dark, or memory, foodie-themed bonds under Satiation and Insatiability, and path-based traits like Love, Hate, Regret, Competition, and Peace.
As the adventure progresses, both the mysteries of the broken Nexus and the protagonist’s past are uncovered. Two characters, Blade from Honkai: Star Rail and Kiana from Honkai Impact 3rd, are confirmed to be present at launch. They will connect the new title back to the larger Honkaiverse.
