The wait is almost over! The much anticipated Honkai Star Rail is out for pre-download, so you can beat the crush when servers open up. The current time according to the Android app itself is April 26th, 3:00 UTC +1.

A pre-download means that the game will be ready to play, just locked until the release time passes. If you want to get in on that, check out the game on Google Play.

So, Why The Hype?

So what’s the big deal? Honkai: Star Rail is the sequel to the wildly successful Honkai Impact 3rd, and the latest title for the formidable stable of MiHoYo.

MiHoYo is undoubtedly one of the biggest names in the gacha RPG world, the creators of the absolute phenomenon that is Genshin Impact, as well as the Honkai series.

While Honkai: Star Rail is a sequel, don’t be too concerned if you’ve not played the games previously. Star Rail picks up a whole new story, so it’s easy enough to get involved without feeling left out.

Trailblazers And Trains

The game takes place in a spacefaring civilization where your player character didn’t really ask to end up. Known as the Trailblazer, an artificial human created and implanted with a Stellaron.

What’s a Stellaron? Well, it’s very powerful, very dangerous, can create widespread destruction, and generally probably isn’t something you really want to have inside your body.

Thrown into existence in the middle of an attack on a space station with only some mysterious prophecy to go on, it’ll be up to you and the friends you pick up along the way to ride the great space train the Astral Express to different worlds, to look for answers and face off against more evildoers like the Voidrangers of the Antimatter Legion.

Waiting on the time to tick down to the release and want something to tide you over until the release date, check out our feature on the best new Android games this week.
