HoYoverse has revealed its next project, and it’s not another sprawling RPG. The studio, which has given us Genshin Impact, Honkai: Star Rail, and Zenless Zone Zero, is cooking up a cosy, charming simulation game instead. Called Petit Planet, HoYoverse has dropped a new teaser giving us a glimpse into its world.
Along with the short teaser trailer that runs for less than 20 seconds, HoYoverse has also revealed a new logo for Petit Planet. So, we can expect that to be the final title of the game.
The teaser shows a small round pet bouncing happily through a grassy patch filled with mushrooms, before the Petit Planet logo takes over the screen. But that’s a lot of cuteness for such a short teaser. Take a look at it below!
What else do we know about HoYoverse Petit Planet?
The reveal comes after the chatter that first began in June 2023, when leaks hinted that HoYoverse was working on something more casual. Comparisons were immediately made to Nintendo’s Animal Crossing.
By March 2025, more reports surfaced describing the mystery title as a life sim with anthropomorphic animals and a big focus on user-generated content.
Even before the Petit Planet name was confirmed, trademark filings suggested the working title was Astaweave Haven. Multiple official social media accounts later made the switch to Petit Planet.
As you can see in the teaser, the art style definitely leans towards Animal Crossing, with its rounded trees, waterfalls, and cute creature design.
And of course, HoYoverse being HoYoverse, there’s always the question of gacha slipping in. But for now, the vibe feels much more relaxed than the studio’s usual catalogue.
The reveal comes right after the reveal of Honkai: Nexus Anima, a creature-collecting autochess title. So, HoYoverse is definitely trying genres beyond its usual gacha RPGs.
