Inked, from developer Nuverse, has just arrived on the Google Play Store.
The game is gorgeous puzzler with visuals based entirely on ballpoint pen drawings. It won Game Connect Asia’s 2020 Indie development Grant Award, so its gameplay is presumably solid too.
Story-wise, it sees you playing as a rogue samurai called the “Nameless Hero”, exploring a papery world with his paramour Aiko.
Unfortunately, our protagonist loses everything – including his name – so it’s up to you to get his life back on track. Overseeing the whole enterprise is the mysterious Artist, who drew the world and who dictates what happens in it.
Along with some beautiful isometric graphics, Nuverse promises a heartwarming story, an immersive world, and an emotionally stirring musical score.
