Invincible: Guarding The Globe Isn’t The Game Adaptation We Expected

Feature image for our Invincible: Guarding The Globe news piece. It shows a shot from the trailer, that has the character Invincible, Atom Eve, and Monster Girl facing against a copy of Eve and two copies of Monster Girl.

An Invincible game is on the way. It’s called Invincible: Guarding The Globe. There’s a trailer out to watch, an official website, and even a Google Play listing. We’re hype to see the Amazon Prime series getting a game adaptation, though taking a look at the official website reveals that we’re looking at an idle RPG.

We’ll admit, an idle game seems like an odd choice for the series. Idle games, for anyone uninitiated, are games where you’re not necessarily controlling the characters. You can sometimes kick off special moves, but mostly they fight by themselves.

Idle Hands

Your role in all of it is to set up your squad and decide how they’re deployed.

What we’ve seen so far is very pretty, especially for an idle game, with full-3D character models and environments. There are a few screens of characters fighting head-to-head

A quick glance at the website reveals that the roster doesn’t limit itself to the show’s regulars. Some of the old Guardians Of The Globe look fit to make an appearance.

War Woman, The Immortal, and The Green Ghost all pop up on the listed roster. It’d be interesting to see a bit more of those characters, given they didn’t feature too long in the series… we’d better not go into that.

Welcome To The Clone Zone

What we’ve seen so far is very pretty, especially for an idle game, with full-3D character models and environments.

The game also promises a new story, which the trailer touches on. In it we see Invincible, Atom Eve and Monster Girl facing off against some Flaxans, only to come face to face with a second Monster Girl. Then a second Atom Eve. Then a third Monster Girl. Oh yeah, it’s clone time.

There’s no firm word on when the game’s release date drops, though Season 2 of the series looks set for release later this year, so it’s worth keeping an eye out. We’ll certainly be doing that.
