It’s finally here! Jujutsu Kaisen Phantom Parade is launching in Japan today. I remember covering the news for this game initially when it was up for pre-register and to this day I’m still salty that I can’t play it! That said, if it is well-received I’ll hopefully be writing news covering a Global announcement in the future.

Initially, the Jujutsu Kaisen Phantom Parade was only available for pre-registering. In previous news, I mentioned the pre-reg rewards which at the time hadn’t reached all their milestones. Excitingly they have now so players who are logging in today for the first time today can enjoy a bundle of freebies. The entire reward list can be found here for anyone curious.

There’s Always Drama!

Already within hours of Jujutsu Kaisen Phantom Parade launching, this game has sparked debate on Reddit. Redditors are shaming the game for being another anime IP cash grab. Whilst this seems to be a growing gaming trend recently, it can be argued that all gachas are cash grabs at heart given the nature of the pulls and games.

In a more positive light, with the Jujutsu Kaisen Phantom Parade game reaching 1.5 Million pre-registrations, players are awarded a guaranteed SSR ticket. Not only that it has reroll value! Though the number of times the reroll can be performed isn’t yet known.

On a personal note, I hope this game doesn’t fumble and become a disappointing anime cash grab that leaves a stain on the source’s name. The live 2D animations of JJK Phantom Parade are gorgeous and kind of feel like the manga brought to life. This blended with voice-acted cut scenes and exhilarating fights makes me believe that this was genuinely a passion project.
