Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light has dropped a new update for mobile, a Try Before You Buy update. It’s available on both Android and iOS, giving everyone a shot to experience the game for free. The game launched on mobile in February this year.

So, what does the Try Before You Buy version of Lara Croft: Guardian of Light include?

Feral Interactive’s latest update lets you play the first two levels of the isometric action-platformer. Set in the depths of the Mexican jungle, you can freely return to these two levels as many times as you like.

In these levels, you’ll get to battle undead enemies, dodge ancient traps, and solve puzzles. All this to try to stop the Aztec god of darkness, Xolotl, from plunging the world into eternal night.

You can unlock the full version of the game with a one-time in-app purchase of $9.99. It includes levels 3 through 14 and also brings in twelve extra bonus levels.

All progress and scores from the trial carry over into the full game, and you can return to earlier stages to search for collectibles and boost high scores. It also lets you upgrade your gear and relics that affect how Lara handles combat.

Help Lara dodge traps

The game combines action with environmental challenges. You swing over chasms, push through temples, and survive swampy ruins and volcanic caverns. You do all that with Lara’s classic dual pistols and a twin-stick control setup.

The mobile version includes fully customisable touchscreen controls and also supports gamepads. Co-op play is available in the free trial as well, so you can team up with a friend online. Download the game from the Google Play Store.
