Lenovo and Dark Rift team up to fully crowdsource the development of an indie game with the gaming community

So Lenovo has started a pretty interesting project, teaming up with developers Dark Rift and a bunch of other companies within the gaming community. This project is about crowdsourcing the development of an indie game, using the input from everyone involve to dictate how everything will turn out.

This project is open to everyone, whether it is a company or you’re just an avid gamer, you can up-vote or down-vote different concepts and ideas for this game. Everything is up for discussion as well, from how the characters/races will look, to how the game’s overall layout will look, including colors, lighting, sound FX, music, skins and the demo. Even the gameplay is up for grabs.

As you participate, you will be able to earn different badges as well. So they have basically gamified the entire thing. While the platform for this game is probably just going to be PC, there is a chance that even this aspect is up for vote as well. This could see the game arriving to mobile as well. Even if it doesn’t, it is still a neat project to be a part of and it will be interesting to see how the game turns out. To participate, you just need to sign up on the official website and you’re good to go.
