Marvel Contest of Champions is bringing a lot of interesting and exciting stuff into April, including the new champion Spider-Woman. Alongside her, Kabam is bringing another champion with very different vibes than her.
Here’s the Backstory of Spider-Woman in the World of Marvel Contest of Champions
Spider-Woman was born as Jessica Drew. As a kid, she got sick from uranium exposure near her home. Her dad, a genius geneticist, did a science experiment on her by injecting her with a mix of spider DNA.
After years of recovery, she did bounce back from the experiment’s adverse effects. But she ended up with spider powers and eventually became Spider-Woman. You can get this new champion in MCOC from April 17th onwards.
But before Spider-Woman, you’ll see another champion in Marvel Contest of Champions. It’s Lumatrix who arrives on April 9th. He’s one of the most dangerous assassins the Founders have ever designed. Lumatrix was built to infiltrate and eliminate with flashy light powers.
What Else Is New?
On the story side, Act 9 Chapter 2 is titled Inquisition. Carina is badly hurt after crossing paths with Ouroborus forces while Doctor Doom is teaming up with the Fantastic Four. Chronoserpent corruption is spreading everywhere. And there’s a new villain, Lotan!
There’s also a new Event Quest called Spy Games kicking off on April 9th and running until May 7th. Black Widow is digging into the mysterious Eidols, and she’s bringing Spider-Woman in to help figure things out.
Dark Phoenix is also making a comeback in the Side Quest with Dark Bounties. She’s placed a bounty on a bunch of Champions, so you have to track them down and grab your rewards.
The Incursions: Dark Phoenix Saga Sector is back too. Gather your strongest Saga champions and push through for Dark Plumes, Light Essence, Tier 7 Basic Fragments and 7-Star Class Signature Stones.
