Four Fats has announced that the sequel to its excellent, Golden Axe-aping, side-scrolling hack-and-slasher Maximus 2 is set to enter pre-registration at the start of March.
It’s also announced that the game will launch the month after – in April 2022. So all in all, you don’t have very long to wait to get your hands on this gorgeous homage to a long-gone gaming age.
There’s going to be a seamless story mode, up to four player co-op, and a castle siege mode that sees you battling against horrendous odds. Here’s a trailer.
There are massive bosses to fight, mounts to ride around on, and a character progression system that lets you upgrade your skills and equipment.
With six different characters to choose from, combos to learn and master and a focus on crunching action, Maximus 2 is shaping up to be pretty darn neat.
