Match Colourful Minos while Balancing the Board in Mino, a New Match-3 Puzzle!

A new puzzle game has landed on Android. It’s called Mino which is a simple but adorable match-3 puzzler. Similar to the what other games in the genre task you to do, the game lets you match three or more identical pieces to clear them. But there’s a tricky little twist!

Mino Needs You to Be Stable

Balance is the key in the game and the twist. While you’re busy making matches, you also have to keep the board stable. Otherwise, things can spiral out of control pretty quickly.

You place Minos on the board, match them up and keep the game going as long as possible. But every time you make a move, the board tilts.

If you’re not careful, your Minos could slide right off, ending your run. So, apart from matching them, you also have to think about how your placements affect the balance of the board.

Time is always working against you in Mino and there are power-ups to help out. You can clear columns, launch rockets to stabilize the board and use a wildcard Mino to match with anything.

You can upgrade your power-ups too, which gives you a better shot at surviving longer and racking up a high score. The game also lets you unlock and upgrade different Minos to boost your earnings.

Who Are These Minos?

I feel like Otori Studios, the developers, got inspired by Minions while creating the Minos. They surely reminded me of the yellow pill-shaped creatures, except that Minos come in a variety of colours. Take a look at them and tell me whether you agree or not!

Mino is quite a fun game with a new concept and a decent challenge. With its playful art style and colourful monster-like Minos, the game gives off a toy-like feel. I surely liked these little creatures with their tiny spikes and adorable stubby tails.

You can check out the game on the Google Play Store. It’s free to play and is out now globally.
