Muv-Luv Dimensions is making its grand return on July 11! The title is most notable for one of the quickest EOS announcements in gacha history.

What Happened in 2022?

The game initially went by “Immortals: Muv-Luv Alternative” and was released on March 17 in 2022. However, 4 hours post-launch, the game was shut down indefinitely. The reasoning behind this is due to a long list of bugs and issues.

In fact, one of the worst bugs was an exploit that allowed players to modify the game to give themselves access to infinite currency – not good. Giving players the ability to obtain unlimited currency defeats the entire purpose of the gacha genre.

Not only that but account data from a previous reroll could be carried over to the next account a player would make – meaning all obtained characters would move over to!

The Muv-Luv Dimensions Relaunch

Fast forward to 2023, and we now have the fantastic news of a relaunch next month. The game’s name has been changed to “Muv-Luv Dimensions”, which is probably due to the fact that the developers wish to distance themselves from the negative first impression given to the public last year.

If you’re familiar with the gacha genre, you’ll know that it’s not a common occurrence for games to come back after they have shut down. Throughout the year, a wide variety of gacha games reach EOS, never to resurface again. But, Muv-Luv didn’t get the chance to even garner a player base before it disappeared from app stores.

What is Muv-Luv?

We’re hoping the game has a successful relaunch in July as it seems like a lot of people are pleasantly surprised that the title is making a comeback.

Muv-Luv is a popular visual novel series that already has a pretty loyal following, especially considering it was first released in 2003. With the franchise moving over to the world of gacha, will it be able to reignite the love from fans?
