Aniplex has just spilled the beans on a new Madoka Magica game, Puella Magi Madoka Magica: Magia Exedra. Yep, you heard it right, they’re bringing the magic of Madoka Magica once again as a game. Are you a fan of the anime like me? Then, keep reading!

What Will The Game Be About?

Don’t get too antsy because we don’t have all the details just yet. But we do know that the developers are aiming to drop the new Madoka Magica game in Japan sometime in 2024. This time, it’s Pokelabo and f4samurai in the development department.

Pokelabo and f4samurai have a track record with hit mobile games in Japan. There’s Magia Record: Puella Magi Madoka Magica Side Story, Assault Lily Last Bullet W (which recently opened for pre-registrations globally, check it out here) and SINoALICE.

Judging by the sneak peeks on the official site of the new Madoka Magica game, it looks like you’ll dive deeper into the Magica world. You can also see a new green Kyubey lurking at the bottom. All the Kyubeys we’ve seen before were pink and white, so what can be the deal with this new hue? I guess we’ll have to wait a few months to know more about it.

Don’t Know Who Madoka Is?

Alright, for those not in the know, Puella Magi Madoka Magica is a popular Japanese anime series which aired back in 2011. Created by Magica Quartet and animated by Shaft, the story spans 12 episodes. It was later adapted into movies, manga and games.

Set in the city of Mitakihara, the story revolves around a group of middle school girls making supernatural contracts to become girls with magical powers. The protagonist is Madoka Kaname, and we also meet many other characters like her best friend, Sayaka Miki. Together, these girls fight witches and surreal enemies.
