Nintendo once again reassures everyone that they won’t be making games for mobile

Nintendo has already made it abundantly clear that the company will never bring their games over to smartphones and tablets, at least not in any foreseeable future. However rumors have started up that the company was planning to release mini-games onto mobile devices, a rumor that Nintendo is all the more happy to squash right away.

The entire rumor surfaced from a recent Kotaku article which reported on Nintendo releasing free mini-games onto smartphones and tablets in the near future. Today Nintendo released their own statement about the rumor, obviously squashing any sort of possibility that Ninento would do anything like releasing mini-games or full games on any sort of mobile platform besides their own.

Nikkei’s article contains information previously stated by Mr. Iwata during past press conferences, including statements which relate to Nintendo’s willingness to make use of smart devices to promote our products.

However during such past announcements Mr. Iwata has also stated that Nintendo’s intention is not to make Nintendo software available on smart devices and as such, we can confirm that there are no plans to offer mini-games on smartphone devices.

So there you have it. If you had your hopes up, sorry to crush them but Ninentdo remains adamant that it won’t be bringing their games to mobile, at least not anytime soon.
