It’s been a while since I’ve talked about Persona 5 X (also known as Persona 5: The Phantom X or P5X). But a recent rumour on Twitter alludes to a potential 2024 release. While it wouldn’t be surprising for the long-awaited mobile game to be released next year, I’d still take it with a pinch of salt.

What About a Global CBT?

Apparently, two other Atlus games are currently in production too. This means Persona 5 X may take a little longer than first anticipated. Further CBTs are in preparation too, and they may be rolled out across multiple regions. The second CBT was region-locked to CN servers back in August.

An English release hasn’t actually been officially confirmed yet, but it wouldn’t exactly go down well if it wasn’t coming to global servers. I’m a big fan of the Persona franchise, so I’d be pretty annoyed if we don’t at least get a chance to try it out.

Similar, but Not the Same

If you have no idea what I’m talking about, let me enlighten you a little! Persona 5 X is an upcoming mobile release that takes a different spin on the original Persona 5/Persona 5 Royal game. In fact, it features an entirely new cast, with the original Phantom Thieves making a cameo – at least that’s what the gameplay videos suggest.

The Persona 5 X release won’t be for everyone though, with the gacha banners serving as the main way to collect new characters. Still, as a free-to-play game, it’s not exactly shocking that Atlus decided to go with a gacha model for this one.
