Pikmin Bloom is kicking off the Mid-Autumn Festival with new Mooncake Decor Pikmin. In case you’re not aware, Mid-Autumn Festival is one of Asia’s biggest seasonal celebrations. It’s all about lanterns, gatherings, and, of course, mooncakes.
When do the Mooncake Decor appear in Pikmin Bloom?
From September 1st, 2025 to September 30th, 2025, the new Mooncake Decor Pikmin are joining the lineup. And alongside them, Mahjong Tile Decor Pikmin are returning to the game.
You can obtain Mooncake Decor Pikmin through Event Challenge missions. On completing the missions, you get rewards like Moonlit Lanterns, flower petals and seedlings that grow into Mooncake Pikmin.
There are seven different Mooncake Pikmin in in Pikmin Bloom. Completing challenges also gives you a chance to see the Big Flower bloom, which always guarantees a Gold Seedling.
Mahjong Tile Pikmin, on the other hand, come with a new twist. Pikmin grown from Mahjong Tile Seedlings may carry any of 14 Mahjong tiles, with seven new bamboo tiles (2–8) making their debut.
However, not every Mahjong Pikmin from past events will be available, so you might notice some missing pieces in the set. To grab these seedlings, you’ll need to clear event missions by collecting Moonlit Lanterns.
Clearing the lantern missions can unlock special costumes for your Mii
Magnificent Mushrooms, as usual, will play a big role during the event. Destroying them earns you Mystery Boxes containing lanterns, Mahjong Pikmin seedlings, and other goodies.
Mooncake and Mahjong Pikmin are especially strong against the mushrooms. On weekends, things ramp up even further with the appearance of Giant Magnificent Mushrooms.
The Giant Magnificent Mushrooms will appear on September 6th, 7th, 13th, 14th, 20th, 21st, 27th and 28th. To help with the challenge, you can use the Mushroom Battle Bullhorn up to three times a day on these weekends.
