Thomas Waterzooi is cooking up yet another unconventional art-based puzzle game. This time, he’s asking players not to touch, but simply to watch the artwork. This new title Please, Watch The Artwork is coming to mobile soon. It was unveiled at the Day of the Devs showcase at Summer Game Fest 2025.
Please, Touch The Artwork and Please, Touch The Artwork 2 launched in 2022 and early 2024 respectively. After their successful launch, Please, Watch The Artwork continues the series’ offbeat exploration of interactive art with a more psychological turn.
The spin-off doesn’t replace the anticipated Please, Touch The Artwork 3, which Waterzooi confirmed is still in development. On that note, catch a glimpse of the reveal here.
Please, Watch The Artwork on Mobile Is Wrapped in Eerie Quiet and Subtle Dread
At its core, it’s a spot-the-difference game. You play the role of a nightwatch in the MaMA (Museum of Animated Modern Art). You monitor surveillance feeds of paintings which weirdly move and change.
Your job is to catch the differences and report them, before the creeping unease takes over. Built around the works of Edward Hopper, the game brings over 40 reimagined paintings to life across six themed galleries.
So, you’ll get to see scenes like deserted diners, melancholic bedrooms, and shadowy streets which loop and breathe. There’s no music; only the ambient audio of each scene. Sound itself becomes another detail to scrutinize, since audio anomalies count too.
The game is coming to Android, iOS, PC, and Nintendo Switch. A release window for Please, Watch The Artwork on mobile has been hinted for October. Waterzooi presented the announcement in an ASMR voiceover, giving it a surreal tone. You can check out more about the title on the official website.
