Pokémon Day was yesterday, February 27th. Celebrating the day, The Pokémon Company dropped a bunch of news in a special Pokémon Presents stream that includes a look at the Pokémon Legends: Z-A video game, teasers for new episodes of Pokémon Concierge and their upcoming battle sim Pokémon Champions.

We’re most excited about the new battle sim Pokémon Champions. Developed by The Pokémon Works in collaboration with Game Freak, it’ll only be about competitive battling. So, no catching, no journey through tall grass and no Gym Badges in this one!

What Else Do We Know About Pokémon Champions, the Upcoming Battle Sim?

Pokémon Champions is a multiplayer experience. It has cross-platform play and is coming to both the Nintendo Switch and mobile devices. There will be multiple modes to dive into, though details on those are still under wraps.

One of the biggest draws of Pokémon Champions is its connection to Pokémon Home. So, you’ll be able to bring in some of your favourite mon from previous games. But not every Pokémon will be available right away and only a selection of Pokémon will be usable at launch.

With Pokémon Champions, it looks like The Pokémon Company is giving competitive play a dedicated home with high-stakes battles without the usual distractions of the main series. Until more details drop on this one, you can take a look at the trailer below.

You can keep up with the updates on the game by heading over to their official website. Meanwhile, do read our news on A Perfect Day, a New Time-Loop Narrative Puzzle Where You Go Back to the Year 1999.
