If you play Pokémon GO, it’s bringing a couple of solid events, including the Catch Mastery event. A lot is happening in the game already, like the Festival of Colors event and the Might and Mastery event, the Catch Mastery event being a subset of the latter.

Catch Mastery Brings the First Birdie for Pokémon GO!

The Catch Mastery event is on March 16th, running from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. local time. The event is all about Archen, the First Bird Pokémon. Wild spawns will feature Omanyte and Kabuto, and you might find their Shiny versions.

Archen will also be available as a Field Research reward, with an increased Shiny chance as well. The event also comes with some nice XP bonuses, doubling your XP when you land Nice Throws or better, and also for Curveball Throws.

There’s also Timed Research tied to the event, focusing on catching Rock-types. If you’re up for the challenge, you can complete up to 10 sets of tasks, which will give you a total of 40 Archen encounters.

The Mega Absol Raid Day Is also Happening Soon

The second event, Mega Absol Raid Day, is happening on March 23rd from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time. Absol is getting a new Charged Attack—Brutal Swing. Once the event starts, Absol will permanently have access to this move, dealing 55 power in Trainer Battles and 65 power in gyms and raids.

From March 22nd at 5:00 p.m. PDT to March 23rd at 8:00 p.m. PDT, the Remote Raid Pass limit will be temporarily increased to 20. You’ll also be able to grab up to five additional free Raid Passes from spinning Gym Photo Discs, making it a total of six for the day.

Check out Pokémon GO from the Google Play Store, if you haven’t already.
