Runaway Play is back with another cosy mobile experience. It’s Pondlife — Relaxing Fish Game which lets you learn all about freshwater creatures. In case you don’t know, their other similar games include Splash — Fish Aquarium, Flutter: Butterfly Sanctuary and Flutter Starlight.

They’ve also dropped other cosy games like Bunny Haven – Cute Café, Furistas Cat Café, Bird Bed & Breakfast and Honey Grove — Garden Sim. Pondlife is their latest relaxing game which launched on World Water Day (March 22nd).

Pondlife Is Truly a Relaxing Fish Game

In the game you take care of a peaceful little pond filled with colourful fish, frogs and other adorable aquatic creatures. Their previous game Splash: Fish Aquarium focuses on ocean life while Pondlife focuses on lakes and rivers and every fish, turtle and amphibian is based on real-life species.

You collect and raise freshwater creatures, from tiny Tetras to playful axolotls. You’ll start with eggs, nurture them as they grow, and eventually release them into the Great River.

There are friendly animal guides, like Lily the otter, Brook the manatee and Willow the beaver. They help you explore different pond environments and unlock new species. Also, there are plenty of customization options with beautiful plants and decorations.

The Visuals Are Amazing

Runaway Play has used a hand-illustrated art style to give the visuals a soft, storybook-like feel. The sound design is just as calming while you’re feeding your fish or watching them swim around.

According to the Creative Director at Runaway Play, Pondlife is like a love letter to lakes, rivers and the creatures that inhabit them. Players will get to appreciate the beauty of freshwater ecosystems through the game. It’s a quiet reminder of how important these natural habitats are.

You can take part in special events to collect limited-time creatures. There’s also an Aquapedia where you can log all your discoveries and learn more about the species you’ve collected. Check Pondlife — Relaxing Fish Game out on the Google Play Store; it’s free to play.
