Simple Machine recently released a game called Pop the Lock onto iOS a few days ago and it has taken off quite nicely for itself, garnering over a million downloads in a few days. For those of us on Android, we too will be getting Pop the Lock as it is slated for release onto Google Play later this month.
[UPDATE: September 30rd, 14:08PM – PST] Just a quick heads up, Pop The Lock is officially back on the Google Play store. Be sure that you download the game from the new link at the bottom of this article. You may want to uninstall the old one and reinstall this version too if the one you have isn’t from this download link. There were a few clones out there.
[UPDATE: September 25rd, 12:48PM – PST] After a short debut on Google Play, Pop The Lock is no longer visible/available for download. We have contacted the developers to find out why it is no longer available and if/when we will see it back on Google Play. We will post another update when we hear back from them.
[UPDATE: September 23rd, 4:46PM – PST] The simple but addictive game Pop the Lock from Simple Machine Games is now available to download in the Google Play Store. The game is free-to-play, and does not appear to have any in-app purchases in the game, based on the Google Play description. The link to download the game can be found at the end of this article.
Pop the Lock is a simple but highly addictive game that tests both a player’s timing and patience. The goal in each ‘stage’ is to unlock the lock. While the goal is simple enough, as is the actual gameplay, accomplishing that goal is actually quite challenging. All you have to do is tap the sequence on the lock properly in order to unlock it. Obviously this gets progressively more challenging the further into the game you get.
It is all about timing and patience. Making a mistake mean you have to start over from the beginning. Each time you successfully unlock a lock, a new one will appear with a different sequence you have to tap. The further you get, the more points you earn.
Pop the Lock will be making its Android debut on September 24th. If it follows the same pricing as its iOS brethren, the Android version should be available for free. We will post an update once this game arrives.
