Puzzle & Dragons 0 is out now, letting you dive back into matching orbs and smashing monsters, but in a new way. GungHo Entertainment, the team behind the original mobile version, has rolled out this latest take on the puzzle-RPG hybrid.

What’s New in Puzzle & Dragons 0?

The original Puzzle & Dragons was released in 2012 with the simple idea of matching orbs on mobile. That core loop is still alive in Puzzle & Dragons 0.

You match three or more orbs of the same colour, and your creatures go on the offensive. Better combos mean bigger damage, and you can pull off a massive chain and wipe out enemies in a single turn. Catch a glimpse of what’s happening this month in the Puzzle & Dragons world below.

What’s new in the latest version is how much more flexible it is. You’re not locked into one screen style. Puzzle & Dragons 0 supports both vertical and horizontal layouts. The mechanics also lean a bit more into team building this time.

There’s a new Root Tree system that lets you evolve your units in different directions based on how you want your team to function. Once you’ve raised and levelled your squad, you can customise your party with favourites that work best together.

And Just Like the Original

You can gather materials from dungeons and craft your own creatures from scratch, using Crystals and Mana earned in battle. It’s not about which monsters you collect, but more about how you create and raise them.

Puzzle & Dragons 0 is free to play, with optional in-app purchases. It has launched globally today in over 150 countries with support for 11 languages. So, grab the game from the Google Play Store.
