Quilts and Cats of Calico is coming to mobile soon to wrap you in a warm, cosy world of fabric scraps, adorable felines and strategic quilting. Publisher Monster Couch and developer Flatout Games are bringing the board game-inspired puzzler to players soon.
Quilts and Cats of Calico is launching on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series and Xbox One on February 11th. Not far behind is the mobile release. Android and iOS launch date is set for March 11th. The game first landed on PC in March 2024, followed by a Switch launch in December.
What’s Quilts and Cats of Calico About?
Inspired by Studio Ghibli animations, the game has soothing visuals that are enough for anyone to be convinced to try it out. The gameplay involves crafting the perfect quilt by matching patterns and colours.
Stitch your way to the top of the quilting hierarchy while dealing with a rival who has some rather ambitious plans involving both humans and cats.
Apart from the aesthetics, there are tricks to score more points. Your design choices need to be smart enough to impress the most important critics in the game. The cats are the critics!
The picky little furballs each have their own tastes in bedding. So, they might ignore your hard work entirely if they don’t like it. Or if they like it, they will just plop themselves right in the middle of your creation.
Speaking of the cats, they’re fully interactive. You can pet them, watch them do their stuff or gently shoo them away when they decide your quilt is their new bed.

Is it the Same as the Board Game?
Quilts and Cats of Calico isn’t actually a straight digital adaptation of the board game Calico. There are new twists to the formula. The campaign mode introduces rule variations, new mechanics and a new setting.
The game has cross-platform multiplayer with ranked matches, weekly challenges and leaderboards. Solo mode offers AI opponents at different difficulty levels.
