Rainbow Six Mobile Enters a Second Closed Beta Phase on Android

Rainbow Six Mobile official artwork.

Rainbow Six Mobile, the upcoming mobile version of Siege, has entered a second closed beta test on Android. It’s exclusive to those that managed to get into the first closed beta last year, and you can participate by simply grabbing it from Google Play.

Everyone else will have to settle for pre-registering for now. Sadly, we have no idea when it will launch, and the official site bears no clues.

What’s Rainbow Six Mobile?

Rainbow Six Mobile is basically a mobile version of the hit multiplayer game, Rainbow Six Siege. It’s a first person shooter that sees two teams of five compete against each other to complete objectives. One team primarily takes on a defensive role, while the other is on the offensive.

Each player takes on the role of a specific ‘Operator’, which is its own set of weapons, abilities, and gadgets. This encourages you to play in a manner best suited to your role, and help mitigate any weaknesses your teammates may possess.

How Different is the Mobile Version?

Aside from the usual changes – touch screen controls, mobile-optimised UI – the game features much shorter matches and game sessions, allowing you to play even when you don’t have a huge amount of time.

Other than that, it’s pretty much as you know and love it. You will recognise many of the maps, including Bank and Border, as well as game mades. Secure the Area and Bomb both make an appearance.

You can also expect fully-destructible environments. Those that love blowing stuff up will have a wonderful time playing Rainbow Six Mobile. Let’s put it that way.

I’m Not Interested. Got Anything Else?

Actually, yes. Every Wednesday we recommend a bunch of the best new Android games that just launched. We highlight games from a range of different genres, so you should have no trouble finding something that suits you.

If you are interested, but simply can’t play it just yet, why not check out PayDay: Crime War. This just launched, and provides you with a similar multiplayer shooter experience that you can take on the go. It’s also a mobile adaptation of a PC and console shooter.
