Reactor – Energy Sector Tycoon is a new tycoon style of game but not in the traditional sense. With most tycoon games you are building something, whether it is an amusement park, a zoo, or an entire city. While this is sort of true for Reactor, this particular title takes that style of gameplay and combines it with idle genre mechanics.
Depending on how you look at this game, it could even be considered a strategy title in some ways. Needless to say, there’s a lot of different elements with this one. In this game players have to create power plants and generate as much electricity and heat as possible. You will need to do this all while keeping everything under control and not having anything happen like blackouts, or explosions. You’ll be doing all of this in order to convert it into as much money as you can.
From there you will need to work on building offices and more turbines, solar panels, generators, coal burners and so on to keep everything flowing smoothly. Eventually you will be able to upgrade to reactors, be it nuclear, thermonuclear, or even a fusion reactor. It’s all about making a good return on your investment, so anything that pumps out more power with lower cost is generally a good thing. Each one, of course, has their own drawbacks as well.

The idle part of the game comes into effect when you’re not actually playing it. Your city will still generate income when the game isn’t open or online. You’ll be competing with friends and other people to see who can make the most money.
