After announcing last week that they’re bringing a mobile title based on Capcom’s hit series, Resident Evil, Aniplex has dropped more exciting news. Resident Evil Survival Unit, their new game, has opened pre-registration on Android.

Unlike other games in the series, this one will be a strategy game on top of its horror genre. Aniplex is co-developing with Joycity Corporation. The game is gearing up for a global launch in 2025, with plans to release in Japan, Korea, North America, Europe, and other regions across Asia.

They had an official YouTube premiere yesterday where they showed the first detailed gameplay online. Instead of creeping around dark corridors with limited ammo, you’ll be diving into a strategy game with real-time tactics and survival elements.

The game unfolds in a parallel universe, branching off from the original series and offering a new storyline. It starts in a locked hospital where the main character wakes up after being used as a test subject by the infamous Umbrella Corporation.

Pre-registration is now live for Resident Evil Survival Unit

While there’s no exact release date yet, you can head over to the Google Play Store to pre-register. You can also take a look at the game in the video below.

The main hub in the game is a massive mansion that acts as your base. It’s where you can decorate, manage resources, and interact with characters like Leon S. Kennedy, Claire Redfield, and Jill Valentine. You’ll also plan missions, craft strategies, and buy items from the famous Weapons Merchant.

Adding extra creepiness to the game, world-famous artist Yoshitaka Amano has contributed a new creature called Mortem. Amano is known for creating art that lives somewhere between a dream and a nightmare. And it’s no different this time either.

Until the game is available, you can take a look at other new games that are out already. Read our scoop on Red Bull Playgrounds, Out Now.
