Robert Broglia brings a little GBA love to Android with the new GBA.emu

Robert Broglia of MB.emu and Snes9X fame has released another emulator onto the Google Play store today, this time giving you a little GameBoy Advance love with the GBA.emu emulator. As you might expect from this emulator, this will let you play those classic GameBoy Advance games on your Android device.

This GameBoy Advance emulator is based on VBA-M r1097 (GPL) and has been designed to work on just about any Android device you throw at it. Tablet? No problem. Xperia Play? Why not. Standard Android phones? Of course. Robert has modded this emulator for increased speed while keeping the performance solid in both a graphical and audio sense. Even though it is modded, GBA.emu maintains the great compatibility that comes with the VBA-M r1097 (GPL) platform when it comes to playing GameBoy Advance titles.

GBA.emu Features:

– High-level BIOS emulation, no BIOS file needed
– Backup memory and save state support, auto-save and ten manual slots for save states. State files are interchangeable with the PC version of VBA-M.
– Supports games in .gba format, optionally in .zip files
– Configurable on-screen multi-touch controls & keyboard support (up to 4 touches supported at once), and an Xperia Play optimized button layout
– Wiimote + Classic Controller, iControlPad, and Zeemote JS1 support (no need to purchase a separate app, see website for full instructions)
– Portrait/Landscape auto-orientation support

It has been awhile since we have reported on the release of an emulator as pretty much every system has already been covered. However, GBA.emu comes with all the bells and whistles you could want including a wide range of controller support as well as support for game files saved in either .gba or .zip formats.

If you are a retro game fan and love to run emulators on your Android device, you might want to check out GBA.emu. This particular emulator will set you back $4.99 when you go to download it off of the Google Play store or through our Google Play synced catalog. As with any emulator, there are no ROMs supplied with it. You have to get those yourself.

Thanks to Rotkaeqpchen for the tip!
