Runes MMORPG for Android development starts back up

Back in late 2010 and early 2011 there was an MMORPG called Runes for Android that was in development. It had reached a sort of closed/open beta type of stage in testing before its development stopped and the developers went on to make another game. It seems as though they are back working on Runes once more.

Runes is an interesting MMORPG that features combat that uses a lock screen type of feature where you have to draw different runes on a lock screen type of pad to cast spells. This game was heavy on the PvP although there was PvE content as well. Just like in any MMORPG though you have all the extra good stuff as well such as leveling up, learning new spells and getting new gear and items to add to your stock.

The Twitter account for Runes had been quiet since the developers announced that they had decided to stop development of Runes until today where they announced work has resumed on Runes. For everyone who was beta testing the game, the website has now completely changed and there is just a landing page with the preview trailer. That means we can expect a new closed beta sign-up to happen once the developers are ready.

When can you expect to get back into testing Runes and, hopefully, see an official public release? That is unknown right now unfortunately but knowing these guys, it probably won’t be long before we see a closed beta sign-up page go live.
