See how much area you can explore on the red planet in Mars: Mars, now out on Google Play

Released by Pomelo Games, Mars: Mars is a new game about being part of the first people to land on and explore the red planet. Players will control a single character at a time (though who/what that character is, will change), with the goal being to move from one (small) platform to the next, using only a jetpack with a very small supply of fuel.

Players will control which of the two thrusters ignites, by tapping on the same side of the screen, so holding down on the left side of the screen keeps the left thruster going, and the same goes for the right. Failure to land on the platform, or to descend on to it at too great a speed, will cause the astronaut to crash in a small, smoke filled explosion. Players will then see their astronaut re-spawn on the previous platform, allowing play to continue from there.

Mars: Mars Features:

– Explore Mars on a jetpack.
– Take selfies on Mars’s greatest sightings.
– Avoid Rapid Unscheduled Disassemblies.

You can acquire credits either by watching optional ads, or catching them in the air (and landing safely). Credits allow players to swap out the astronaut for another, though which of the characters is being used doesn’t impact how the game is played. Players will also have the opportunity for their character to take selfies, as well as see how how many pads they can consecutively land on, without crashing.

Mars: Mars is available for free from Google Play. The game includes both optional ads (that pay credits to the player) as well as IAPs.
