The Shironeko GOLF x Evangelion collaboration has begun, for Japan that is. Global players have been left in the dirt with no new content. The collab looks to be a good one too, with special costumes added to the game, as well as brand-new playable characters.

Frustrating, But It Does Make Sense
It’s quite a shame that only JP players get to experience this collab, as a global release would have made more sense – especially when it comes to financial gain. However, Evangelion is notably more popular in Japan, which does give some context behind the decision. Still, it does feel pretty unfair for the worldwide fans.
What’s Included in the JP-Only Event?
So, who’s playable in the Shironeko GOLF x Evangelion collaboration? Fan-favourites Asuka and Rei can be obtained, and they’ve got 3 outfit choices.
Shake it up with the exclusive golf outfits for both characters or opt for their usual school uniform clothes from the series. Or, you can equip their plug suits! Additionally, you can also obtain special plug suit outfits for the Shironeko GOLF characters, Charlotte and Oscuro. Charlotte can don Asuka’s suit, whereas Oscuro sports Rei’s.
Where’s Shinji?
Sadly, Shinji and Misato aren’t in the game but they make an appearance in the collaboration event emotes! Personally, we’d have loved to have seen Misato in the game, given she’s one of the most popular female characters in the Evangelion franchise – maybe next time!
In fact, the Shironeko GOLF x Evangelion collaboration is the first-ever collab in the golfing game. What a franchise to collaborate with first! This event will surely bring a lot of new players to the game, with fans eager to get their hands on the limited-time characters.
