SILENT HILL: Ascension Is A Collective Nightmare We’re All Invited To

A new title in the SILENT HILL franchise is on its way to Android, and SILENT HILL: Ascension sets out to be a completely different experience than any that have come before it. Fittingly, the release comes out on the spookiest day of the year, the 31st of October.

Ascension is part of a new genre of games, massive interactive live events (M.I.L.Es) that invite the entire base of players to influence the story’s events. Another example was last years The Walking Dead: Last Mile.

Everyone’s Choices Matter

The architect of Last Mile, Genvid Technologies, is also behind the inner workings of SILENT HILL: Ascension, with Konami’s blessing of course.

The stage is set. The events will play out over several days, with new stories each day. It follows the tales of various different characters as they’re beset by horrifying creatures. To face these fiends also means facing some of the darkness they have inside, too.

You play the game collectively as a community, and your choices as a group will ultimately have permanent effects on the fates of the characters, and how the stories end. No pressure!

A Horror Series Juggernaut

SILENT HILL needs very little introduction. The legendary horror series has terrified gamers since its advent on the original PlayStation, though new content in the franchise has been few and far between in the last few years, since P.T evaporated from platforms and left us all bereft.

Ascension may never fill the void left inside us when Silent Hills was canceled. It might give us a few good scares this Halloween, though.

Does this scary new experience speak to you? Well, you can pre-register for SILENT HILL: Ascension now via Google Play to be ready for the Halloween launch.
