Sky: Children of the Light is turning six, so thatgamecompany is celebrating the 6th Anniversary in a unique way. They’re hosting a live awards show right inside the game’s world. It’s going to be an eventful event!

When Is the Sky: Children of the Light 6th Anniversary Awards?

Well, the awards ceremony is called The Sky Creator Awards. It’s set to happen on August 15th at 6 p.m. PT. Players from around the world can join in from Sky’s cinema, the huge virtual venue that can hold thousands of people on one server.

This is the first time the Sky community will get to experience something like this. A one-night-only live in-game ceremony dedicated to honouring players and creators for outstanding user-generated content.

There will be awards across ten different categories. The two major categories are the Sky Community Award and Content of the Year Award. The remaining categories are Crafts, Livestream, Cosplay, Storytelling, Gameplay, Illustration, Music, and Sky Scapes.

Winners will get to jump on the virtual stage and give a speech to the audience watching live in the cinema. Meanwhile, before the ceremony, the cinema will run a 24/7 stream of behind-the-scenes content and developer messages.

The party starts early!

On July 7th, Aviary Village will transform into a bright, energetic hangout spot, with areas to swim, dance, and show off in parades. It will kick off the Sky: Children of the Light 6th Anniversary celebrations.

There will be a ton of activities even before August 15th. Like a towering climb, mini-games, and trivia challenges. The cinema will also run a six-year look back at all the events and seasons that have shaped Sky since its 2019 launch.

Also, from July 21st, you can watch the first part of a four-part animated feature film exploring the backstory of Sky’s universe. It’s called Sky: The Two Embers – Part 1. Take a look at the trailer for the award ceremony here.
